Cookie Policy

Last updated: 18 October 2026

This cookie policy explains what cookies are, which ones this website uses, what they do, and how you can control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains everything else we do with personal information, and our Terms and Conditions.

The website is operated by Iva Cleaning Services LTD, registered in England & Wales, company number 05482711, registered office 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX. If you have a question about anything on this page, email iva.cleaninglondon@gmail.com.

1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. The next time you load a page, the browser sends that file back, so the site can recognise your session and remember things between one page and the next.

Cookies are not programs. They cannot run, they cannot read the rest of your device, and they cannot carry a virus. What they can do is identify a browser, which is why the law treats them as a privacy matter rather than a technical one.

A few related technologies do a similar job, and this policy covers them too:

  • Local storage and session storage — larger stores of data kept in your browser, used in much the same way as a cookie but not sent back to the server automatically.
  • Pixels and tags — tiny invisible images or snippets of code that tell a third party that a page has been loaded.
  • Server logs — records our hosting provider keeps of every request, including your IP address. These are not cookies, but they are described in our Privacy Policy for completeness.

1.1 First-party and third-party cookies

A first-party cookie is set by this website. A third-party cookie is set by another company whose content appears on a page — an embedded map or video, for example. We control the first kind. We do not control the second, and the other company’s own policy applies to it.

1.2 Session and persistent cookies

A session cookie is deleted the moment you close your browser. A persistent cookie stays on your device until it expires or you delete it. The table in section 3 tells you which is which.

2. The rules we have to follow

Two sets of rules apply in the UK. The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) govern the act of storing or reading anything on your device. The UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 govern what we then do with the information.

In practice that means:

  • Cookies that are strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for can be set without asking you. A cookie that keeps a card payment secure while you book is a good example.
  • Every other cookie — analytics, advertising, personalisation, and anything set by a third party — needs your consent before it is set. Consent has to be a clear, positive action. Carrying on browsing is not consent, a pre-ticked box is not consent, and refusing has to be as easy as accepting.
  • You can withdraw consent at any time, and we have to tell you how. Section 4.1 explains how.

3. The cookies this website uses

The table below lists every cookie this website sets. We keep it up to date as the site changes; if you find something on your device that is not listed here, please tell us.

Cookie Set by Purpose Type Expires
cmplz_banner-status, cmplz_functional, cmplz_statistics, cmplz_preferences, cmplz_marketing, cmplz_consented_services, cmplz_policy_id This site (Complianz, our consent tool) Remember whether you accepted or refused analytics cookies, so the banner does not ask again on every page. Set only once you make a choice. Strictly necessary 1 year
__stripe_mid Stripe, our card payment provider Helps Stripe detect and prevent fraudulent card payments. Set only on the bookings page, where the payment form loads. Strictly necessary 1 year
__stripe_sid Stripe, our card payment provider The same fraud-prevention purpose, for the current visit only. Bookings page only. Strictly necessary 30 minutes
maz-resolved-color-mode This site (Amelia booking form) Remembers whether the booking form is shown in its light or dark style. It holds no information about you. Bookings page only. Functional 1 year
_ga, _ga_W8N4MP5363 Google Analytics Tell visits apart so we can count how many people use the site and which pages they read. Set only if you click Accept (see section 4). Statistics (consent) Up to 2 years
wordpress_test_cookie, wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_*, wp-settings-* This site (WordPress) Keep a staff member signed in to the site’s admin area and remember their screen preferences. These are never set for ordinary visitors. Strictly necessary Session, or up to 1 year for settings

Pages other than the bookings page set no cookie at all until you answer the cookie banner.

3.1 Our booking system and card payments

Bookings are taken through Amelia, a booking system that runs on this website rather than on a separate platform. Card details are entered into a secure field supplied by Stripe and go straight to Stripe; we never see or store your full card number. Stripe’s two cookies in the table above exist to stop fraudulent payments, which is part of the service you asked for when you book, so they do not need your consent. Stripe explains them in its own cookie policy.

3.2 Fonts

The fonts on this site are stored on our own web server. Loading a page makes no request to Google Fonts or any other font service.

3.3 Embedded content

No page on this site currently embeds content from another company. Our YouTube video and our social media profiles are ordinary links: nothing from those companies loads until you click through to their sites, where their own privacy and cookie policies apply. If we ever embed a map, video or review widget, we will add it to this policy and ask for your consent before it loads.

4. Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages and services people find useful and where they get stuck. It tells us things like how many people visited, which pages they read, which site or search brought them here, roughly which town or city they were in, and what kind of device and browser they used. Google Analytics does not store IP addresses, and we do not use it to identify individual visitors.

Google Analytics only runs if you click Accept on the cookie banner. Until you do, its code stays switched off and nothing is sent to Google. If you click Deny, or simply ignore the banner, it never runs. The site, including online booking, works the same either way.

We do not use advertising or marketing cookies, and the banner has no marketing category to accept.

4.1 Changing your choice

You can change your mind at any time. Use the button below to open the cookie banner again. On a computer, the Cookie settings tab at the bottom right of every page does the same.

If you withdraw consent, Google Analytics stops at once. Cookies it has already set stay in your browser until they expire, unless you delete them (see section 5.2).

5. How to control cookies

5.1 In your browser

Every major browser lets you see what is stored on your device, delete it, and block cookies in future. The controls are usually found under Settings, then Privacy and security. The links below go to each browser’s own instructions:

Bear in mind that blocking all cookies will stop parts of this site — and most other websites — from working properly. In particular, card payments on the booking form may not go through.

5.2 Deleting what is already there

Clearing your browsing data removes cookies already stored, including any set by this site. You will be signed out of sites you are signed in to, and any preferences those sites remembered will be forgotten. The cookie banner will ask for your choice again on your next visit.

5.3 Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signal. We treat either signal as a refusal: if your browser sends one, Google Analytics stays switched off and you will not be asked to accept it.

6. Where to find out more

The Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK’s data protection regulator, publishes plain-English guidance on cookies for the public at ico.org.uk/for-the-public/online/cookies.

7. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy whenever the cookies on the site change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. We suggest checking it if you have not visited for a while.

8. How to contact us

If you have a question about this policy, or about anything stored on your device by this website, please contact us:

If you are not happy with how we have handled a privacy question, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, by telephone on 0303 123 1113, or by post to Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF. We would rather you came to us first, so we have a chance to put it right.
